Movie preview of Bhootnath

January 27th, 2008 nafees No comments

Director : Vivek Sharma
Producer : Ravi Chopra
Music Director : Vishal-Shekhar
Cast : Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Amitabh Bachchan, Satish Shah, Rajpal Yadav, Aman

Bhootnath is directed by Vivek Sharma. The music of the film is composed by the Ta Ra Rum Pum duo Vishal-Shekhar. The film stars the two biggest superstars of Hindi Film Industry. Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
Bachchan and SRK will hardly share any screen space, except for the climax sequence in the supernatural film. Apparently, mortal beings cannot see Bhootnath and so Amitabh will not be visible to Shahrukh Khan. This might be a conscious move on the part of the production house to avoid any friction between the actors.

October 19th, 2007 nafees No comments

At 65, Amitabh Bachchan remains indefatigable. Even as he continues to shoot for a number of films juggling dates among Mumbai, Goa and Delhi in the last one week, he also found the energy, breath and time to record three songs for Vishal-Shekhar for two different films.

One more song remains to be recorded for Sujoy Ghosh’s Alladin as soon as I return to Mumbai,” the Big B said from Goa where he’s shooting for debutant director Vivek Sharma’s Bhootnath. Big B plays a ghost in Sharma’s film. “I’ve sung a rap song for Vishal-Shekhar for my ghost’s character in Bhootnath and another rap song for my djinn’s character in Alladdin. Plus I recorded a soft lyrical number for Bhootnath. As soon as I return I’ll record one more song for Alladin.”

Amitabh and Shahrukh, date problems for Bhootnath shoot

September 25th, 2007 nafees No comments

Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan star in Ravi Chopra’s film Bhootnath. After all the rumours surrounding the two having a cold war, it will be interesting to see the two actors work together. However there seems to be a new problem, Shahrukh and Amitabh don’t seem to have any combined dates to give their director. This has upset director Ravi Chopra and also the film’s schedule. Both actors have shot their individual scenes in the film, but have yet to find combined dates to shoot for their portion together.

According to sources “When SRK gives his dates, Amitabh Bachchan is not available The sets put up for the film are extremely expensive and it has been lying unused for quite some time now, this is no doubt causing the film producers a financial crunch. Recently Amitabh had given some dates, but unfortunately they coincided with the music launch of SRK’s home production Om Shanti Om and hence the shooting had to be cancelled in the end.

A major portion of the film involving SRK and Amitabh’s individual scenes has already been shot, but they have still to shoot their joined portions. Earlier too there was some talk that Amitabh wanted Bhootnath script to be re-worked. In the second week of October, the film’s unit leaves for Goa to shoot a song sequence out there and the joint portions of Amitabh and SRK need to be shot before that. Director Ravi Chopra simply said “We have got some dates and we will start shooting at the Mehboob Studios sets from October 1-10.”

Shahrukh is also busy promoting his home production Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. The film will also see his wife Gauri Khan makes a special appearance towards the end of the film. In fact Shahrukh’s NRI fans in Germany are so excited to see Om Shanti Om that about 10,000 signed petitions requested for a screening of the film at the Berlin Film Festival. They have even invited their favourite actor SRK to come out to meet his fans in Germany. However the film will not be screened at the Berlinale as it is February which is a bit too late, but the film will have a worldwide release on November 9. The German Magazine Rapid Eye will also be doing a book on the making of Om Shanti Om. So that’s some fan following for SRK from Germany.

Amitabh Bachchan tries to appease the Gods for a grandchild soon

September 7th, 2007 nafees No comments

The Bachchan family is known to be extremely religious and have often been spotted performing poojas and visiting various temples in the country. Recently the Bachchan family, including son Abhi and daughter-in-law Ash were spotted at the Siddhivinayak temple on Tuesday to pray like other devotees to ward off their troubles as well as ask for blessings from the Gods. Amitabh no doubt makes several donations to the temple and this time he is all set to gift a 3.5 kg silver mouse to the temple.

But this time Bachchan has a secret special reason for gifting the special custom made silver mouse to the temple, the reason a source reveals is “that he wants to become a grandfather soon.” Amitabh will custom make the silver mouse from a jeweler in Amravati. Recently there were rumours floating regarding Ash being pregnant, but the family vehemently denied these reports. Amitabh has prayed at the Siddhivinayak temple often during good times as well as bad, he has prayed there during son Abhishek’s wedding with Ash , he has prayed there when he was unwell and even during his land problems etc. But this time he has come to seek blessings for a grandchild soon.

Some other sources claim that maybe a wish has already been fulfilled and hence the Bachchans want to gift a silver mouse to the temple. A source says “The Bachchan family regularly visits the Siddhivinayak temple; they always whisper their wishes into the ears of the two large silver mouse statutes which are placed inside the temple’s entrance.” The mouse donated by Amitabh will be similar to the other two already there. Son Abhi and daughter-in-law Ash are no doubt aware of this precious gift and are also aware of what Big B’s wishes are, so will the stork be visiting soon then? Let’s wait and watch, whether Big B’s wishes will be granted soon this time round.

On the professional front Amitabh and Varma’s recent film RGV Ki Aag has done disastrously but it has not stopped them from working together again. Amitabh, son Abhi and daughter-in-law Ash have already shot for Varma’s sequel Sarkar Raj. However dad n son are also planning to do another sci-fi flick with Varma, Time Machine some time next year. Earlier SRK and Kareena were to do the film with Varma, but things did not work out and the deal fell through. There have also been rumours that Abhi and Amitabh will do a film titled ‘Cobra’ with Ramgopal; however both Ramu and Amitabh deny any knowledge of such a project. Ramu says “I don’t have any film called Cobra with Mr. Bachchan and Abhishek in mind.” Amitabh too says “I guess the papers sometimes know things about my projects that neither me nor my director are aware of.”
