Deepika padukone charge more than Aishwarya Bachchan

January 28th, 2008 nafees No comments

It may seem to be incredible, but the truth is that ‘one film wonder’ Deepika Padukone is proving to be costlier than former Miss World Aishwarya Bachchan to the film producers. Before her entry into Bollywood, Deepika was talked about more because of her string of boyfriends, but today she is also in the news for demanding exorbitant rates for acting in films.

Soon after the resounding success of the Shahrukh-Deepika starrer Om Shani Om, a producer from south India Shankar, who made the super hit film Shivaji –The Boss with Rajnikanth, had approached the former model for the female lead role in his forthcoming film Robot, but Deepika is reported to have charged such a high fee which left the producer stunned as well as silent. Next, Shankar approached Aishwarya Bachchan-Bachchan for the role, but there is no confirmation whether the actress has said yes.

Farah Khan and Shahrukh Khan protect Deepika padukone

October 3rd, 2007 nafees No comments

Deepika Padukone is all set to sizzle on the silverscreen with her debut film opposite King Khan.

Says Deepika, “I have grown up watching Shah Rukh Khan movies and working with him in Om Shanti Om was such a great experience.

I was like this little child on the sets. Neither SRK nor Farah played any pranks on me as they were scared that I would break into tears. I felt protected all the time.”

Deepika Padukone : DREAMY GIRL in OM SHANTI OM

September 25th, 2007 nafees No comments

Some may find it amusing, but it is true that Farah Khan opted for Deepika Padukone “in OM SHANTI OM” because she wanted to project her as a huge 70’s superstar like Hema Malini. Keeping that in mind, there is a take off on the Dharmendra Hema starrer, DREAM GIRL (1977), with Deepika playing Shanti Priya, an actress of the 70th in the upcoming OM SHANTI OM, and is humorously titled, DREAMY GIRL! It has also been heard that Farah Khan believes that Deepika has the poise and grace of the South Indian actress and resembles her. It seems to be the right choice by Farah as Deepika is clearly drawing all the eyeballs in the promos being aired

Today, every superstar is removing his shirt : Farah Khan

September 13th, 2007 nafees No comments

It’s not even a week since the first look of ‘Dard-E-Disco‘ was out and the song, especially due to ‘perfect-six-abs’ of Shahrukh Khan, is already the talk of the town. Composed by Vishal-Shekhar and written by Javed Akhtar, ‘Dard E Disco‘ is a ‘jump-on-the-dance-floor’ number which has a Persian touch to it even as overall feel of the song stays on to be Western.

“I am thrilled with the kind of reactions the song is fetching. As the teaser suggests, this is my way of re-introducing Shahrukh Khan”, quips Farah Khan, director of this year’s most awaited film Om Shanti Om.

Re-introduction it certainly is, considering the fact that after ‘Kaal Dhamaal‘ [Kaal] where he danced in designer sleeveless vests with Malaika Arora, Shahrukh Khan has shed his inhibitions further and gone the Monty route, even if it is only half the way!
