Deepika Padukone is all set to sizzle on the silverscreen with her debut film opposite King Khan.

Says Deepika, “I have grown up watching Shah Rukh Khan movies and working with him in Om Shanti Om was such a great experience.

I was like this little child on the sets. Neither SRK nor Farah played any pranks on me as they were scared that I would break into tears. I felt protected all the time.”

Amitabh and Shahrukh, date problems for Bhootnath shoot

September 25th, 2007 nafees No comments

Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan star in Ravi Chopra’s film Bhootnath. After all the rumours surrounding the two having a cold war, it will be interesting to see the two actors work together. However there seems to be a new problem, Shahrukh and Amitabh don’t seem to have any combined dates to give their director. This has upset director Ravi Chopra and also the film’s schedule. Both actors have shot their individual scenes in the film, but have yet to find combined dates to shoot for their portion together.

According to sources “When SRK gives his dates, Amitabh Bachchan is not available The sets put up for the film are extremely expensive and it has been lying unused for quite some time now, this is no doubt causing the film producers a financial crunch. Recently Amitabh had given some dates, but unfortunately they coincided with the music launch of SRK’s home production Om Shanti Om and hence the shooting had to be cancelled in the end.

A major portion of the film involving SRK and Amitabh’s individual scenes has already been shot, but they have still to shoot their joined portions. Earlier too there was some talk that Amitabh wanted Bhootnath script to be re-worked. In the second week of October, the film’s unit leaves for Goa to shoot a song sequence out there and the joint portions of Amitabh and SRK need to be shot before that. Director Ravi Chopra simply said “We have got some dates and we will start shooting at the Mehboob Studios sets from October 1-10.”

Shahrukh is also busy promoting his home production Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. The film will also see his wife Gauri Khan makes a special appearance towards the end of the film. In fact Shahrukh’s NRI fans in Germany are so excited to see Om Shanti Om that about 10,000 signed petitions requested for a screening of the film at the Berlin Film Festival. They have even invited their favourite actor SRK to come out to meet his fans in Germany. However the film will not be screened at the Berlinale as it is February which is a bit too late, but the film will have a worldwide release on November 9. The German Magazine Rapid Eye will also be doing a book on the making of Om Shanti Om. So that’s some fan following for SRK from Germany.

The big fight between Shahrukh khan and Farah khan

September 11th, 2007 nafees No comments

if you thought that all was hunky dory during the shooting of Om Shanti Om, then you got it wrong. Here’s the good news and the bad news. The bad news is that Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan got into a terrible fight on the film’s sets.

The good news is that this was strictly for the camera! Farah makes a special appearance in her second directorial venture, which releases on November 9.So what’s news in that? After all, the entire Hindi film industry—from Amitabh Bachchan to Amrita Arora—will be seen in special appearances in this Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Shreyas Talpade starrer!Well, the difference here is that Farah won’t be playing herself. Instead, she enacts the role of a junior artist.Laughs Farah, “Well, this is the irony we wanted to bring about. Imagine me playing a junior artist in the film. In fact, I am seen along with Shah Rukh in the opening sequence of the film itself.”

Shakira’s item number in OM SHANTI OM

September 10th, 2007 nafees No comments

Director Farah Khan is so friendly with Shah Rukh Khan that she has scrapped her movie ‘Happy New Year’ starring SRK, Priyanka Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan, in favor of SRK and Gauri Khan’s joint production ‘Om Shanti Om’. No sooner Farah finished her ‘Main Hoon Na’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen (already released ), than she not only wrote the script but also accepted to direct SRK starrer ‘Om Shanti Om’. Industry circles say that ‘Om Shanti Om’ is based on the Hollywood movie titled ‘Chances Are’ made as early as in 1989. Farah has a special interest in ‘Om Shanti Om’. That’s why she has assigned an item number to Colombian Latin pop singer -cum-song writer Shakira. But in view of its theme, the story of ‘Om Shanti Om’ seems to based on the Hindu philosophy of reincarnation.
